Federico Carosio took his Ph.D. (2012) in Materials Science and Technology at Politecnico di Torino with a thesis entitled: “Layer by Layer assembly of nanostructured coatings for flame retardancy and barrier properties”. At present, he is an Associate Professor at the Department of Applied Science and Technology of Politecnico di Torino, Italy. His research group is focused on functional coatings deposited by water-based techniques on fabrics, foams, and other substrates as well as the development of hybrid materials (composites and foams) encompassing bio-sourced fibers. He co-authored more than 100 scientific papers published in international peer review journals and he attended several national and international congresses and workshops.
